Is Gmail not an Email?

Many will say I don't have email but I have Gmail. "Is email not the '@yahoo.com'? or is it different from '@gmail.com"

Gmail, yahoo, Hotmail, Outlook, live etc. are all email service providers. If you operates a Gmail account, then you already have an email account.

Email is the term used for an electronic mail system which gives you access to send and receive mails, attachments and documents of different formats.

You  use  electronic  mail  or  e-mail  to  send  information  to  someone.  The  big difference  with  normal  mail  is  speed.  One  second  after  you  press  a  button  to send  an  e-mail,  it  arrives  at  the  e-mail  address  you  used.  Even  if  you  send  it  to the other  end  of  the world! If  your  computer  is  connected  to  the  internet,  you  can  use  e-mail  for communicating  with  friends  and  business  relations.  You  can  also  ‘attach’ documents  to  an  e-mail,  such  as  reports  or  digital  photographs.  

There  are  special websites  that  give  you  e-mail  service  free  of  charge.  If  you  want  to  use  e-mail, you simply  visit  one  of  these websites and open an  ‘e-mail  account’. You get  a private  e-mail  address  which  you  give  to  your  friends,  and  then  they  can  send you  e-mail.  To  read  your  e-mail  and  to  send  e-mails  yourself,  you  visit  the website again and open your  personal  ‘mailbox’.

✓ username, 

✓ @  sign ("at") and 

✓ a domain name, in this format username@domain_name.extention(tld) e.g. aksamtech@gmail.com 

Their are different kind of email service providers some are free while some are paid. Examples of free email are Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, aol etc. You are the one to decide on the service you want to use. The paid email services are those with their domain names hosted on webmail server.

No matter which email service you choose, you'll need to learn how to interact with an email interface, including the inbox, the Message pane, and the Compose pane. Depending on the email provider, the interfaces may look and feel different, but they all function in essentially the same way.

Many email accounts are dormant and crying out loud for its owner to open it. It's time to learn more about using your email effectively because it's one of your major means of communication around the world and it can also be used as an identity (User ID) in other platforms such as Facebook, X, LinkedIn etc

Sincerely, Gmail gives you a wonderful email service and you can use the email account to carry out almost all online registration you might want to do.

Gmail is secured and compatible with your smartphone. If your smartphone runs on Android Operating System (OS), then, you will need to have a Gmail account to use some of the apps on your phone for optimal performance 

When you opened a Gmail account, you have automatically registered a Google account.  So anytime you are on any Google platform (like Play Store, YouTube, Chrome, Google Photos, Hangouts, Google Docs, Google Drive, Google My Business, Blogspot, Datally, File Go etc.) you don't need to do any further registration again. Just sign into your Google account, then you will have access to all Google apps with seamless synchronization and back up.

There are some other benefits attached to having a Gmail account... There are many platforms created by Google for their users with almost free usage access, Free Cloud Storage the least of 15GB - 500GB (expandable up to hundreds of terabytes but the expansion attracts some funds). Whereas Google Workspace (Google for Education) has unlimited space either for the free options or the premium type

Creating a Google account comes with divers types of back up techniques for user's data; talking about the likes of Drive, Contacts, Keep (Notes), Calenders etc.

Very soon Google will go wider than we can imagine.
